At Manning Family Children’s, our dedicated hematology team provides comprehensive, compassionate care for children and adolescents living with blood disorders. We offer specialized programs designed to meet the unique needs of young patients and their families. These include the following specialty programs:
Girls and Adolescents with Bleeding Disorders and Sickle Cell Disease (GABS) Clinic – this program addresses the often-overlooked challenges faced by young females with bleeding conditions
Hemophilia, Bleeding Disorders, and Thrombosis Program - this program offers expert diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of clotting and bleeding disorders such as anemias, neutropenias, and platelet and bleeding disorders.
Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Program – this program is focused on delivering advanced, family-centered care for children with this complex inherited blood disorder that affects 100,000 children and adults in the United States.
Together, these programs ensure every child receives personalized, multidisciplinary support at every stage of their journey. Our hematology service cares for the largest group of Sickle Cell Disease patients in Louisiana, and more children with blood disorders come to Manning Family Children's for treatment than to any other hospital in the state.
