Children’s Hospital New Orleans is leading the way in providing specialized care for young patients dealing with the ongoing effects of COVID-19. The hospital’s Long COVID Clinic is the first of its kind in the area, offering dedicated services to help children and adolescents who are experiencing long-term physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms following their recovery from the virus. This clinic provides comprehensive support to help these young patients manage and overcome the lingering effects, ensuring they have the best possible chance for a full recovery.
Our interdisciplinary team of experienced pediatric specialists works with children who have recovered from the virus but need additional support to regain skills or functions that were lost because of the illness.
Our physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy departments work with patients and their families to address the ongoing symptoms of COVID including:
Headache
Muscle weakness
Muscle aches and pain
